Bio

Michael Chinen was born in Honolulu in 1982. He did his undergraduate study at the University of Washington, studying composition under Richard Karpen. He has developed audio software for composition independently as well as in the industry. He received a B.M. in composition and a B.S. in computer science in 2005. From 2005-2006 he studied sound synthesis in Japan at Tokyo Denki University under Naotoshi Osaka. Currently he is pursuing a master’s degree in electro-acoustic music at Dartmouth College.
