Today is a big day for Johnny Fiasco and Remixin. He performs tonight in NYC at the Audio Mosiac Recordings anniversary party and is the featured artist in Remixin's first remix contest, http://www.remixin.com/contests/fiasco

Max Patch Remixing Now Available on Remixin

At Remixin we're always trying to find new and interesting ways for people to remix and share their music. We now allow people to share Max/MSP patches and Pd Patches along with stems and remix kits. If you use Max you can remix the max patch or just use the sound samples in your patch. When you upload your remix you can also attach your max patches so that others can remix from your remix patch. Iterative patch remixes could yield some interesting tunes!

Pitchfork Music Festival Line Up Finalized

The Pitchfork Music Festival announced some new additions to their line up last month including The Flaming Lips. Other notable acts on the bill include Pharoahe Monch, Grizzly Bear, Yo La Tengo, and Tortoise. If you are a lover of indie music then head to Chicago this July and check out the sounds of up and coming bands and some established indie favorites.

Ableton Live 8 Released

Ableton has just announced the release of Live 8. You can now buy or upgrade to version 8.

I got to play with beta of Live 8 last month and really like the improvements. There are new features like groove pool, new clip warping, real-time looper synth, vocoder, crossfades, & enhanced editing. I never upgraded to 7 (I still use 6) but I am planning on upgrading to 8 this month.

Winter Music Conference (WMC) has hit Miami!

WMC hit south beach two days ago and will be sticking around till Sunday when everyone packs up their bags and hangovers to head back to their part of the globe. WMC is where the top DJ from around the globe come together to party and network.

It's not an illegal download! The tracks are all available on the SXSW website, but some nerd with a great idea, spent hours collecting all the tracks and putting them up on bit torrent. Thank you, whoever you are!

The Sennheiser HD 800 Headphones take an assembly line team of workers 45 mins to make one pair. Only 50 are made a day. Compare this with other headphones where hundreds or thousands are made a day.
